Uptown District

Uptown District

The East Carolina Research and Innovation Campus (ECRIC) Uptown District properties consist of 19.04 acres – mostly consisting of 14 acres of surface parking – bordering the east side of Uptown Greenville. It is the bridge between the main campus of ECU and the Uptown area of Greenville and the Tar River waterfront.

When combined with Intersect East’s holdings, these properties comprise a significant portion of Greenville’s Uptown/Center City area and position ECU to join a select group of the nation’s campuses aiding in revitalization efforts of an urban core. ECU’s comprehensive master plan includes the possibility of developing the area with a visual and performing arts center, hotel and conference center, and/or an alumni center, among other innovative options.
